Earlier this month we had a great webinar on the topic of Mobile Targeting. Matt Sauls covered high-level market trends in mobile, then moved on to practical information for marketers getting started with mobile campaigns on SiteScout.

Tablets: Surge into Mainstream and Grab Nearly Half of Mobile RTB Share Worldwide
Mobile stands to play an important role in the real-time bidding (RTB) space. When it comes to the potential of particular mobile platforms, pay attention to tablets because of late they’ve been surging into the mainstream.

Ad:Tech: Making Programmatic Buying More Targeted and Efficient
Programmatic buying is already very efficient when it comes targeting, but if you’re looking for ways to make it even more effective look no further than your own creative power.
Mobile Targeting with Matt Sauls
Our last webinar on Retargeting went very well. As always, we polled attendees to gauge interest in the next webinar topic and this time Mobile Targeting came out the clear winner. We’ll be hosting the next webinar two week from today (full details below).
During this webinar, Matt Sauls will explain how mobile targeting works and how it differs from typical desktop web campaigns. He will also discuss various reasons why mobile matters to marketers, along with different strategies that can be used to optimize mobile campaigns. After the presentation there will be a Q+A period where Matt will be answering questions from webinar attendees.

We have always created tools that empower marketers, agencies and advertisers. In order to create a richer marketing ecosystem, however, we realized that developers and entrepreneurs would also need their own tools, which is why we are proud to announce the launch of our new SiteScout API. This means that you can now build your own mobile, web, and desktop applications that interact directly with the SiteScout RTB platform!
There are 2 initial components to the API:
- Reporting: this allows you to pull data from your campaigns into your own applications or databases. You receive access to real-time and historical campaign data on many levels (site, placement, creative, offer, etc.) You can also retrieve this data on an hourly basis, with various levels of granularity. And, by using date ranges and filters, you can “slice and dice” the data as you see fit.
- Audience Management: this allows you to create and modify retargeting audiences associated with your account. You can also retrieve the tracking codes for your audiences in all the various formats. Furthermore, you can retrieve the stats for your audiences for any given time range, giving you the ability to track the growth of your audiences over time.

Forecast: RTB Ad Spending To Be One-Fifth of Total Display Advertising in 2013
The future looks bright for real-time bidding (RTB) which is rapidly cementing its place as a significant player in the display advertising space. RTB is increasingly being allocated larger portions of total digital display ad spend and it’s showing no signs of slowing down.

Real-time bidding ushers in era of lean marketing for display advertising
What’s lean marketing? How does it work in display advertising? How do you run a successful lean marketing campaign and why can they be created easily thanks to the rise of real-time bidding? SiteScout’s own Ratko Vidakovic answers those questions in his latest guest column for MarketingProfs.
Gaining access to more ad inventory, expanding audience reach, and centralizing it all in a single platform, is important for all marketers. It’s also central to our mission as a company, which is why we are always working to bring additional supply partners on board. We also understand that being able to segment such large quantities of inventory is crucial to the media planning process, which is why we’ve added some powerful enhancements to the AdPlanner tool. We’ve also added an additional data provider for demographic/psychograhic targeting, and some new tracking tokens for campaign optimization.
Let’s start by covering the new AdPlanner enhancements…

This Publisher Went All-In on Programmatic
Many publishers are unsure about programmatic and real-time bidding. But not all of them, and one Netherlands-based publisher has shifted its entire 20-person sales department to focus on programmatic ad sales.
Yesterday’s Retargeting webinar had a great turnout with lots of great questions. Matt covered practically all the aspects of retargeting and how they apply to marketers.
If you have 45 minutes to spare, grab your favorite beverage and watch this presentation.

Publishers Beef Up for Programmatic
Real-time bidding is changing the sales game and to stay effective many publishers are outfitting their teams with specialists more suited to the new real-time environment. Organizations like Forbes and The Weather Network are building separate dedicated programmatic sales teams and younger companies like Business Insider are building sales teams with programmatic at the core.
More publishers are discovering the new programmatic environment requires they bring on sales talent who realize technical fluency is just as important as traditional skill sets. While some companies might not feel the need yet to adapt, it’s safe to say most agree the speed at which RTB and programmatic are changing the playing field means publishers have to be ready and willing to adapt.
Retargeting with Matt Sauls
Our last webinar on Campaign Optimization was very well received. We polled attendees to gauge the interest for the next topic in our webinar series and Retargeting was the clear winner. We’ve decided that the next webinar will be approximately two weeks from now, towards the middle of March. Full details are below.
During this webinar, Matt Sauls will cover the basics of how retargeting works and how to set up different types of retargeting campaigns. He will also discuss various reasons why retargeting matters to marketers, along with different strategies that can be used on the SiteScout RTB platform. Matt will use real-life campaigns to demonstrate the retargeting process and how an actual campaign looks. He will also cover the usage of our new Audience Capture feature, which makes retargeting extremely easy for all marketers. As usual, after the presentation there will be a Q+A period where Matt will be answering questions from webinar attendees.
Our webinar with Tracking202 last Thursday was a huge success based on all the positive feedback that we have received. Here is a replay for anyone that couldn’t attend:
